"Muckish from Glenveagh"

A thick impasto oil painting on a canvas board, mounted on a modern deep edge frame, the canvas size is 4 x 4 inches, over all outer frame size is 7 x 7 inches.

If you have ever visited Glenveagh National Park, in Donegal you will know you first arrive at the visitors centre, from there you can either make the 4km walk to the Castle and tea rooms or you can get the bus. On route you will see breathtaking scenery including beautiful scenes of muckish mountain surrounded by gorse bushes, heather, foliage and the lake. On each step a different perspective is visible and it was hard for me to choose a still to paint, each passing moment creating different skies, endless inspiration for an artist. I'm lucky to live and work so nearby in my studio/gallery in Letterkenny. This painting I created after one of these walks.
